Review for Loreal Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder

Review for Loreal Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder

Good evening pretty girls! Happy Chinese New Year to our Chinitas out there. Tonight I will be giving you my honest review for Loreal Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder. This powder was launched last year and I believe I have this one February of last year. It's just now that I will be giving my review for this because I got the wrong shade that time and with that, I cannot give good reviews about it. I can't use it much and I was quite disappointed.
But, this 2016, Loreal had a great sale for Loreal Mat Magique in which I got the refill for only P150.00 and yes, finally I got the right shade which made me use this powder more. With that, here is my honest verdict with  this all-in-one matte transforming powder.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Here are the claims of this powder:

I am sorry for the quality of the pic but to give you a brief summary, Loreal Mat Magique claims to give SPF 34 PA +++ and claims that you'll also be 12 HR Shine Resistant. Loreal Mat Magique also claims to be the first magical matte all-in-one powder infused with volcanic perlite infusion, a natural yet powerful sebum absorbant.

***According to my research volcanic perlites relatively have high water content in which for me, it sounds that it is really good in absorption. It is chemically inert, sterile, non-toxic and non-fibrous, free of organic impurities, and has a neutral pH.

Loreal Mat magique claims to prime, cover and perfect skin through poreless skin transformation. It smells like a typical powder foundation which is not bothering at all.

VARIETY:

Loreal Mat Magique All-in-One Transforming Powder has 5 shades : (from lightest to darkest)

  • N1- Nude Ivory
  • N2- Nude Vanilla
  • R1- Rose Ivory
  • G1- Vanilla Ivory
  • G2- Golden Ivory
As per their Beauty Consultant, they have yellow undertones but for me it is not as yellowish as Maybelline's White Superfresh Powder Foundation. I got the shade G1 at first and it oxidized on me so I opted to have R1. I believe I am NC30 for Mac, 140/151 on Naturactor and Honey on Maybelline White Superfresh. I am acidic.

INGREDIENTS:

Active ingredients are volcanic perlites for sebum absorption. It has titanium dioxide, talc, starch, (zea mays starch, corn starch), trisostearin, etc.

SIZE:

6.5 g

PRICE:

The introductory price for this is P499.00 for the compact and P399.00 for the refill. But they had sale wherein they sold the compact for P200 and refill at P150.00. Prices for this one vary. Check out Loreal Counters and Loreal Paris Philippines' Facebook Page for updated prices.

PACKAGING:

 Refill of G1

Compact of G1 but the powder in it is R1. I just re-used the compact again

It has a cute fuchsia pink case with mirror. Refills do not have a decent packaging in which you can't use it by itself or bring it with you unlike other powder refills. You must really have the compact. But refills and compact both have a sponge.

APPLICATION:

Loreal Mat Magique is very much easy to apply with the sponge it has. But sometimes I use a powder brush for this one and both work well.  I use a dabbing technique when using the sponge for a better coverage. It gives a light to medium coverage and it is buildable. For the parts that you have dark spots, you still need a concealer because it can't conceal. It can also emphasize dry patches so make sure to moisturize and it really gives a flawless, matte finish. It is lightweight.

Sometimes I use this with other liquid foundations or BB Creams I have. It blends well and does not give a cakey finish. Just make sure to put enough because too much powder can really cause cakeyness.

Meet my mama.. hehe.. In this pic, I was wearing Naturactor and Loreal Mat Magique. It did not disturb my Naturactor and gives a natural-looking finish in pictures. But for pictures with flash, it gives a white cast since it has SPF.

PERFORMANCE / LONGEVITY:

Yes, it does give a flawless, matte-finish but as I've noticed, the claims of having a 12HR Shine Resistance is not evident on me because after 3 hours, I can see the shine on my T-zones. I have a combination skin by the way, The shine appears  to be kinda dewy and healthy shine.
After 5 hours, the shine is still there, but it is still not bothering at all.
After 8 hours, there you go, my nose and forehead are really oily that I really felt the need to blot. But the product remains in tact on my cheeks and on other parts of my face.
After blotting, my face still looks fine. Retouching again will not add cakeyness to the face. But 3 hours after retouching, I already saw the shine again.
The result is same when used alone or with a cc cream or liquid foundation underneath.

Honestly, a powder which gives me a shine-free skin or a healthy dewy-looking skin for up to 5 hours is really good for me. Retouching is not an issue to me after 5 hours. But, since it claimed to be a powder with 12HR Shine Resistance, it quite disappointed me but nevertheless, this is still my go-to-powder for now. For those who have oily skin, I think it won't make you shine-free for 12 Hours. You still need to retouch 5 hours or less.

I did not have any breakout or rashes.

AVAILABILITY:

Available on Loreal Counters but during Sale, the stocks really run out fast.

PROS:

-I really love the flawless, matte finish.
- I love that it has SPF 34 PA+++.
- It is lightweight, buildable and can go well with other liquid foundations or CC Creams.
- Very girly packaging.
- I did not breakout or got any rash.
- It gives a decent oil control, not 12 Hrs but compared to other powders, this one is a good matte powder.

CONS:
- Refills do not come in a good packaging.
- Shades are kinda confusing and do not give the yellow tone I am looking for so you must be really careful in picking the shade because wrong shade may give you that ashy look. To add, beauty consultants often suggest wrong shades.
- The claim 12 HR Shine- Resistance is not true based on my experience but the oil control is decent enough.

Repurchase? Yes. Again, a powder which gives me a shine-free skin or a healthy dewy-looking skin for up to 5 hours is good enough. I recommend this to those who wants a matte finish and oil-control but they must be willing to retouch after 5 to 6 hours. For those who do not want retouching in less that 12 hours, this powder may not be good for you.

Smashbox Photo finish Primer versus Benefit Porefessional Primer

Smashbox Photo finish Primer versus Benefit Porefessional Primer   First of all, Happy New Year and Happy Valentine's Day... Hahaha... Yes blogging is back; it was never gone. I was just too focused with my corporate job but I am here now... and we will keep the ball rollin' So today, I will be reviewing 2 primers; Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and Benefit Porefessional Primer. It would be a comparison review. But let me define what a Primer is. Primer is a product applied on the face prior to foundation to ensure that the surface or canvass will be smooth, poreless, refined and sometimes used to prolong the staying power of the foundation; as it also can control oil. Imagine painting your wall? We use primer first before the paint right? Same thing on our face. There are difderent types of primers but today I will just focus on the 2 mentioned brands; Smashbox and Benefit. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe those brands are part of the high-e

Review for Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer

REVIEW FOR CELETEQUE HYDRATION FACIAL MOISTURIZER First of all, thanks for giving Grasya's Diary a sight. Today, I will be giving you an updated review for Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer.  I used to have oily skin, but due to some topical treatments and cleansers, I got a combination skin after. There were dry patches after weeks of using my creams so I asked my derma if I can use a moisturizer. She told me I can but I just need to put  on to dry patches in order for me not to have an oily face again. I was  confused with her statement because I know that even you have an oily skin, you must still use a moisturizer, just pick a water-based then.  So I still use it for the whole face hehe. I was using Myra-E before but I feel it's kinda heavy on my face so I tried this Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer.  Again, to reiterate, can we use Moisturizer even we have oily skin? Yes. Oil is different from moisture. Sometimes our skin tends to oil-up because it needs mo

First Impression Review for iWhite BB.Holic Everyday BB Cream

First Impression Review for iWhite BB.Holic Everyday BB Cream Happy Valentine's Day girlies. As usual, I apologize for being missing in action because I am into the corporate world again. But as promised, I won't be giving up beauty blogging.  Today I will be giving my honest review for iWhite's latest product, the BB.Holic Everyday BB Cream. I saw  this product in the group, The Make Up Revolution PH in Facebook (if you haven't join the group yet, please check it out because the latest beauty news are there) . Knowing iWhite, it was known for products that are very much affordable. I have tried their nose pack in which I was not satisfied (will be posting my updated review soon ). But though I was not satisfied with their nose pack, I still wanted to try this BB Cream because it is so affordable. So let's get it on. CHARACTERISTICS: The claims: For those who are new in the Make-up World, BB Cream is a blemish balm or beauty balm,
